Every fact links to the app’s own website, with the date we checked it. We don’t give star ratings.

We group apps by how you learn: self-study courses, live tutors, audio and speaking, vocabulary and reading, or language exchange.

Prices change often and vary by country, so we link to each app rather than quote prices we couldn’t confirm.

How tools are chosen

Each listing links to the official website, states its licence and whether it is fully open source, free but proprietary, or free with paid tiers, and shows stars, last-commit date and licence from the project's public repository where it has one. Top Pick listings are clearly labelled and never change the facts shown about a tool.
